Koriyama City in Fukushima Prefecture is a core city located in the center of the prefecture, which has developed as a hub for transportation and industry. During the Meiji era, Koriyama City in Fukushima Prefecture transformed the barren Asaka Plains and brought in the abundant water from Lake Inawashiro through the Asaka Canal. As a result, Koriyama became the most rice-producing area in the prefecture, with vast, fertile rice fields. Starting with the brand rice "Asaka Mai," cultivated in this region, producers have worked tirelessly to grow the safest and most delicious top-quality rice. This effort has led to the creation of "ASAKAMAI 887," a premium rice brand that meets Japan's strictest shipping standards. This product is a testament to the unwavering quality and pride of Koriyama rice producers, as well as their trial-and-error research and development.
