MASAKADO WINE is a Japanese wine brand based in Bando City, Ibaraki Prefecture, a region historically connected to the samurai Taira no Masakado. Inspired by his independent spirit and strong connection to the land, our brand expresses harmony between history, nature, and contemporary Japanese food culture.
Our wines are crafted as authentic Japanese wines designed to pair naturally with Japanese cuisine. We focus on balance and elegance rather than intensity, allowing delicate flavors such as dashi, fish, vegetables, and fermented foods to stand out while supporting the overall flow of a meal.
Alongside our wines, we produce a non-alcoholic verjus made from green grapes harvested during green harvesting. These grapes are usually discarded, but we repurpose them to create a drinkable grape vinegar with fresh, clean acidity. This non-alcoholic beverage pairs well with both Japanese and Western cuisine.
