Minamisanriku Winery opened in Minamisanriku Town, Miyagi Prefecture in 2020, with Shizugawa Bay stretching out right before the winery.
We craft dry wines that preserve the authentic aromas and flavors of grapes from Minamisanriku and Tohoku, envisioning pairings with dishes featuring ingredients from Minamisanriku's seas, mountains, and villages.
These wines have been recognized in competitions, winning the top Diamond Trophy award at the 12th Sakura Awards and earning three stars for two consecutive years at the Japan Winery Awards.
Our underwater-aged wines, in particular, are popular high-value products. We collaborate with Minamisanriku fishermen to submerge the wine in Shizugawa Bay, accelerating its aging. The shells of barnacles and mussels that attach to the bottles add visual impact.
