Kashiwa Mochi is a soft and chewy Japanese rice cake filled with sweet red bean paste and wrapped in an oak leaf. Traditionally enjoyed during Children’s Day in Japan, it symbolizes the growth and prosperity of one’s descendants.

The oak leaf, which doesn’t shed until new leaves grow, represents family continuity. Though not edible, it imparts a fragrant, earthy aroma to the mochi, elevating both its taste and presentation for a beautiful, meaningful treat.
