Japan offers many types of mochi, but warabi mochi is something special. Made from warabi starch, which comes from the rhizomes of the bracken fern, warabi mochi has a unique jelly-like texture. Unlike typical mochi made from glutinous rice, it is chewy yet melts quickly in the mouth. Its translucent appearance makes it refreshing, and it is especially enjoyed in Japan during the summer months.
We are pleased to introduce the following three varieties:
【Strawberry Warabi Daifuku】
Soft and chewy warabi-mochi dough wraps a sweet and tart frozen strawberry and plant-based cream. Best enjoyed after about 30 minutes at room temperature, it’s also delicious slightly frozen for a refreshing twist. A light, subtly sweet Daifuku that’s irresistible with every bite.
【Tapioca Milk Tea Warabi Daifuku】
Brown warabi-mochi dough encases a rich, tea-flavored cream. With a playful appearance reminiscent of tapioca and a satisfyingly chewy texture, this bite-sized treat is perfect for teatime or a fun dessert moment.
