Each grain is firm and glossy. While warm, the grains separate well, and a subtle sweetness spreads with each chew. Its mild flavor and low stickiness make it suitable for fried rice and vinegared rice.
Developed in response to growing demand for eating out and prepared meals, this variety was created alongside late-maturing varieties enabling staggered harvests to counter global warming. It was registered in 2011. Named “Mizuho no Kagayaki” (Mizuho's Radiance), it evokes golden ears of rice gleaming in the autumn sunshine. - Countries of Trade
