Exhibited products "Gifting Otaru" —— Weaving Stories into a Sustainable Future
Otaru, once the "Gateway to Hokkaido’s Development," attracts 8 million visitors annually with its historic charm. However, the city now faces a declining population and an economy overly dependent on transient tourism.

To ensure Otaru’s future, we ask: "What is the true essence of Otaru-ness?"

Beyond the iconic canals and stone warehouses lie deep cultural heritage and human stories. Our project, UNGAPLUS, brings these narratives to life through local craftsmanship. Under the theme "Gifting Otaru," we act as a local trading company dedicated to fostering "Civic Pride" and creating meaningful connections between residents and visitors.
