Pelicon Brewery – Where Slovenian Craft Meets Kaizen Excellence
We are Slovenia's pioneering craft brewery, established in 2013 near to Slovenia's hop-growing region. We specialize in premium craft beer production using Slovenian hops from the Savinja Valley – home to 23 unique hop varieties including the indigenous Savinjski Golding. Our brewery combines traditional European brewing heritage with modern lean manufacturing principles inspired by Japanese Kaizen methodology.
Our award-winning portfolio has earned international recognition including medals in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Greece alongside Untappd annual awards in 2024 and 2025. We implement continuous improvement, achieving reduction in manual interventions and water usage reduction through systematic automation.
Beyond brewing excellence, we collaborate with Slovenia's Biotechnical University on indigenous yeast research through directed mutagenesis, and with the Slovenian Institute of Hop Research and Brewing (IHPS) on hop variety testing. Our mission embodies the "Slovenian Dream" – growing from humble beginnings while maintaining integrity, quality-first approach, and deep respect for craft beer culture.
